Senior Corporate Tax Accountant

Overview:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Corporate Tax Accountant. The ideal candidate will utilize their research skills and tax expertise to identify and communicate potential tax issues effectively. This role is crucial for preparing and reviewing financial and tax information required for filings, coordinating tax planning, and preparing tax accrual workpapers.

Job Duties:

  • Tax Filings and Workpapers:

  • Prepare consolidated corporate workpapers and tax returns for federal, state, and local authorities.

  • Analyze and review state apportionment data for the preparation of state and local tax returns.

  • Coordinate with external tax consultants and legal counsel regarding tax compliance matters.

  • Audit Preparation and Testing:

  • Prepare quarterly and annual Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) audit testing calculations and projections.

  • Assist with federal and state examinations, review schedules, and perform research to respond to information document requests during tax audits.

  • Research and Compliance:

  • Research and document federal and state tax compliance issues, ensuring adherence to current regulations.

  • Evaluate book-to-tax differences related to fixed assets, using FAS software to compute tax asset depreciation reports.

  • Process Improvement and Documentation:

  • Contribute suggestions for process improvements and assist in maintaining developmental processes.

  • Stay informed on federal and state tax laws, regulations, and current industry developments.

  • Special Projects and Additional Duties:

  • Handle special projects and other duties as assigned by management to support the team’s objectives.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Required).

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in public accounting or equivalent industry experience.

  • At least 1 year of partnership tax experience.

  • 6 months of public accounting work experience with a Big-4 or large firm.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.

  • Proficiency with OneSource or GoSystem tax preparation software.

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
