Description Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is recruiting to fill a Senior Accountant role for a growing Reno based company. The position reports to the Controller, who is a strong mentor and leader. The company is focused on transforming the accounting function to GAAP vs. a more cash focused accounting practice. Implementing new processes, and improving reporting are also important to the organization. The position in general includes: preparation of financial statements, general ledger maintenance and reconciliations, journal entries, assisting with budgeting, supporting variance and trend analysis and other special projects.
To be considered for the role, candidates must have a BS Degree in Accounting, and strong knowledge of GAAP. Experience in financial reporting, and supporting analysis is also critical. Excellent oral and written communications skills
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Experience with budgeting and forecasting
Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP Accounting
Foundational knowledge in bank reconciliations
Adeptness in financial reporting
General ledger experience
Deep understanding of financial statement preparation
Engages effectively in self-directed time management and prioritization of workload
5+ years of overall general accounting experience
BA/BS in Accounting
Prior work done in public accounting is desired
