Description
Robert Half is currently working with a client seeking a Cost Accounting Analyst. The Cost Accountant is a critical role responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. This role will also establish customer pricing by working closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team. Your responsibilities in this role
Record and examine changes in goods and services, and determine the effects on cost
Assist in audits and general ledger preparation
Analyze costs and recommend cost savings
Generate reports for management that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services
Manage the implementation of a standard costing methodology for domestic plants
Analyze the data collected and log a detailed record of the results
Prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs and analyze manufacturing costs
Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program
Carry out variance analysis such as Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances
Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements
Create internal cost audits
Develop and support the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization
Analyze projects and data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage, waste
Make calculations of new and proposed product costs
Requirements - High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
2 years of Cost Accounting work experience
Proficient at analyzing financial data and promptly creating accurate reports
Prior experience utilizing cost management methodologies, activities, and cost pools based on direct and indirect cost rates
Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
High analytical and extremely detailed
Knowledge of organizational accounting concepts
