Description If you're an experienced accountant with a keen eye for accuracy, there's an exciting opportunity through Robert Half for you to check out at a firm in the Wholesale Distribution industry. The responsibilities of a Staff Accountant entail preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. In addition, you will look over schedules for the reporting processes, participate in compliance, and keep in touch with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This role also involves the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.   • Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision

  • Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

  • Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules

  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

  • Partake in annual closing processes

  • Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner

  • Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Participate in various department-wide initiatives

  • Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting

  • Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Skilled with ERP systems

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Detailed and have the ability work independently

  • Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

  • Self-starter and strong ethical standards

  • Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

  • Microsoft Excel experience highly desired

  • Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger

  • Expertise in journal entries

  • Monthly Financial Reporting experience

  • Monthly Financial Reports experience

  • Vow to meet business deadlines

  • Recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
