Robert Half Medical Payment Posting Specialist in Spokane, Washington
Description
We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Medical Posting Specialist in Spokane, Washington. This role involves handling account receivables from various sources, including Medicare, commercial insurance companies, and patients, requiring an in-depth understanding of payor coverage criteria and medical insurance billing. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain clean posting practices, interpret accounts receivable, and gather necessary information and documentation for processing payments and adjustments.
Responsibilities:
Posting accounts receivable daily (electronically or on paper) per company protocol.
Interpreting Accounts Receivable and making proper adjustments to resolve balances based on correct accounting principles.
Gathering information on each payor's payment policies and guidelines to ensure timely and accurate payments.
Gathering documentation for processing payments and adjustments.
Keeping the Manager informed of any system issues or procedure problems affecting payments or adjustments.
Documenting actions in billing systems and CRM as per company standards.
Collaborating with the Collections department to resolve outstanding patient balances.
Handling special projects assigned by the Manager or other members of management due to advanced knowledge of billing functions.
Reviewing escalated payments or credit/refund issues as directed by the Manager.
Performing other duties as directed by business conditions or management.
Requirements
3 years of experience in medical billing and payment posting
Knowledge of medical terminology and medical billing codes
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to read and understand explanations of medical benefits and Explanation of Benefits (EOB)
Knowledge of Excel
Adherence to high ethical and professional standards as per company policies and regulations, including the Advanced Code of Ethics on Interactions with Healthcare Professionals.
