Robert Half Human Resources (HR) Assistant in Springfield, Oregon

Description We are seeking a Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team in Springfield, Oregon. This role will require someone with a strong background in HR functions, including recruitment, compliance with labor laws, and assisting with benefit programs. This is a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with new employee recruitment and hiring procedures

• Triage and answer incoming phone calls professionally and efficiently

• Utilize Microsoft Word and Excel to complete tasks and maintain records

• Support with benefit program administration and compliance with labor laws

• Perform data entry tasks, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of records

• Maintain a high typing speed, up to 60 words per minute

• Assist with filing and organizing tasks as needed

• Conduct background checks in compliance with company policies

• Ensure excellent customer service when dealing with internal and external stakeholders

• Participate in various HR related projects and initiatives as required. Requirements • Must possess knowledge and experience in labor law

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word is required

• Experience in recruiting and filing is essential

• Ability to handle data entry tasks efficiently and accurately

• Experience in conducting background checks is required

• Must have skills in handling benefit functions within an organization

• Excellent customer service skills are necessary

• Experience in answering inbound calls is a plus

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred

• Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
