Robert Half Financial Aid Advisor in St. Louis Park, Minnesota

Description

We are seeking a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Financial Aid Advisor in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, within the Education - University industry. The selected individual will play a crucial role in assisting students navigate through the financial aid process and manage funding options. This role involves a considerable amount of customer service and will require a strong command on various skills including data entry, email correspondence, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities:

• Guide students through the financial aid process, providing advice on funding options

• Maintain a high level of customer service in all interactions with students

• Efficiently process student applications and manage customer records

• Answer inbound calls and manage inbound/outbound emails, providing clear and accurate information to students

• Utilize Microsoft Excel and Word to manage data and create reports

• Manage customer inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns

• Monitor student accounts and take appropriate action based on account status

• Coordinate and schedule appointments for students as needed

• Enter and update order entries in the system

• Work in a team-oriented environment, assisting colleagues as needed.

Requirements • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word

• Experience in data entry and order entry

• Proven customer service skills, ideally in a call center environment

• Ability to handle both inbound and outbound calls efficiently

• Excellent written communication skills with experience in email correspondence

• Ability to schedule appointments and manage calendars

• Knowledge of financial aid processes in a university setting

• Ability to provide clear and concise information to students about financial aid options

• Strong problem-solving skills to assist with financial aid issues

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

• Familiarity with federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs and regulations

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with diverse groups of individuals

• Commitment to providing excellent service to students and families in navigating the financial aid process

• Bachelor's degree in finance, education, or a related field preferred.
