Description We are looking for a Sr. Accountant to join our team in St. Paul, Minnesota. In this role, you will be responsible for leading various accounting functions, such as General Ledger Accounting, Month-End Close, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Cash Management. This role presents an exciting opportunity to grow professionally within the business.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the monthly General Ledger close, including creating journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and execute other financial analyses.
• Handle the accounts payable function, including reviewing and entering invoices into the accounting system, obtaining appropriate approvals, and initiating ACH payments.
• Manage the accounts receivable function, including monthly billings and timely collections of customer balances.
• Oversee cash flow, including daily cash reconciliation and preparation of rolling cash-flow forecast.
• Own the expense reporting software and review expense reports to assure they are submitted timely, with appropriate support, and in adherence to T& E policy.
• Respond to reporting and other ad-hoc requests including those from external accounting firms, benefits and insurance providers, Federal and State governments, and more.
• Participate in project work as assigned.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail, understanding the importance of reviewing own work for accuracy.
• Continually seek opportunities to increase efficiency and improve processes. Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Senior Accountant.
• Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation and Bank Reconciliation.
• Demonstrable experience with General Ledger and Journal Entries is required.
• Must be adept in using Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Proficiency in handling Month End Close processes is essential.
• Experience with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP accounting software is required.
• Must possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Must have a strong ethical framework and ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Relevant professional certifications such as CPA or CMA would be an advantage.
• Must be able to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
