You might be a good fit for this Staff Accountant position if you can prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. In this role, you will perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. Major responsibilities
Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request
Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner
Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management
Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Requirements - Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in ERP systems
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Distinguished analytical, quantitative and social skills
