Robert Half Accountant in Stamford, Connecticut

Description We are seeking an Accountant to join our team in Stamford, Connecticut. This role is vital to our operations, focusing on tracking and managing various financial aspects, processing journal entries, and driving accounting process improvements. The successful candidate will work closely with various team members to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage sales, use tax, property taxes, and real estate taxes.

• Collaborate with the team to manage and file income taxes.

• Track and ensure proper coding of non-AR related deposits.

• Review and maintain Fixed asset ledger and subledger.

• Calculate and execute fixed asset depreciation.

• Review and amortize prepaid accounts.

• Maintain Operating lease schedules under ASC 842.

• Address, track, and resolve any discrepancies and reconciling items.

• Oversee projects with limited direction.

• Record journal entries and assign accounting classification to various records.

• Perform monthly account reconciliations.

• Drive accounting process improvements.

• Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in Bank Reconciliations

• Familiarity with General Ledger

• Ability to handle Journal Entries

• Experience in Month End Close

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently

• A high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality

• Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus but not mandatory

• Proven experience in the Accounting field.
