Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Stamford, Connecticut
Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in the wine industry situated in STAMFORD, Connecticut, 06901-3435, United States. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, your role would primarily revolve around managing and processing Accounts Payable functions, focusing on transactional work and detailed General Ledger coding.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately process customer credit applications in a timely manner
• Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date customer credit records
• Manage and resolve customer inquiries effectively
• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions where required
• Handle day-to-day invoice processing for Accounts Payable
• Ensure accurate coding of invoices and transactions
• Conduct three-way matching to verify invoices
• Review invoices and perform detailed General Ledger (GL) coding
• Use Microsoft Excel to maintain and manage data and perform related tasks
• Provide support for the overall Accounts Payable function. Requirements • Must have a thorough understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) procedures and best practices.
• Proven experience in Coding and Coding Invoices is required.
• Familiarity with 3 Way Matching process is essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary for data management and analysis.
• Knowledge of the wine industry and related financial practices would be advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well within a team.
• Must have a problem-solving mindset, with the ability to identify and rectify any discrepancies in financial data.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience in a similar role within the wine industry would be highly regarded.
