Description The Application Architect organizes the lifecycle of new development on future and existing products. This includes managing daily product development efforts, designing product architecture, and reviewing product requirements. You will be responsible for translating product specifications into production level applications as well as managing complex interactions between business processes and technologies.
Complete other related duties as assigned by management.
Determine and progress development standards, guidelines, procedures, processes, and metrics.
Get hands-on with code development for web-based n-tier applications.
Guide team members to grow abilities and strengthen capabilities.
Create and sustain technical architecture standards and develop cross-product frameworks and best practices.
Lead code reviews, calling out best practices and steps for increased stability and capability.
Collaborate with the product team to understand requirements and create functionality specifications.
Own the product development timeline.
Assist in writing the technical section of functional specifications for new product development.
Help with product release planning and assessing feature viability/effort.
Architect, design, and document solutions to product specifications for shared capabilities throughout the architecture.
Oversee the deployment of alpha and beta releases during the stabilization of new product development.
Give technical and non-technical mentorship and oversight to developers. Requirements - Ability to decompose and prioritize components of large systems.
Excellent understanding of database design.
Demonstrated capability to evaluate existing architecture, documenting issues and suggested improvements
Familiarity with common software development languages is preferred.
5+ years of experience in team management in a related field.
Aptness to create, debug, secure, test, and optimize code for multiple web-based applications and services.
BA/BS in Software Engineering or Computer Science.
10+ years of experience in application development, software design, and architecture.
Must be able to work independently and lead small teams.
Development of realistic plans, goals, and aligning plans with company goals, managing resources, and creating contingency plans.
Consulting experience with business analysis, data management, system architecture, and distributed technologies.
Desire to learn new technologies related to the Web and application development.
Experience with threading, asynchronous event handling, data binding, scripting and query languages/tools.
Presentation experience, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
