Robert Half Mailroom Assistant in Stamford, Connecticut

Description We are in search of a diligent Mailroom Assistant to join our team in the Consumer Products industry, based in STAMFORD, Connecticut. This role involves managing mailroom services and facilities support in an efficient and organized manner. This is a short term contract employment opportunity offering a dynamic community of life-long learners and a hybrid of in-office collaboration and remote focused work days.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the process and delivery of incoming Fed-Ex, Fed-Ex Ground, DHL, and UPS packages

• Collect and post outgoing mail

• Record all delivered package data on the relevant database

• Ensure the maintenance of supplies, including loading copier paper twice daily, and managing shipping/mailing envelopes, boxes, markers, forms stickers, and tape

• Perform daily checks and cleaning on copiers to ensure they are in good working order and well-supplied with toner

• Conduct weekly inspections of the premises to identify and address any repair/safety deficiencies

• Coordinate cleaning services with night staffing as required

• Provide front desk phone coverage for lunches, breaks and as needed

• Support the HR Operations team with initiatives, special meetings, and events

• Utilize strong written and verbal communication skills to solve problems and improve processes

• Manage multiple tasks and demonstrate resilience in the face of challenges

• Handle the process and delivery of mail as per requirement

• Coordinate and maintain office supplies as needed

• Perform the role of a Facilities Coordinator, ensuring the smooth running of the workplace. Requirements • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a mailroom environment or similar role

• Demonstrated ability to effectively process incoming and outgoing mail

• Proven experience in delivering mail within an organization in a timely and efficient manner

• Strong understanding and experience in maintaining inventory of office supplies

• Experience coordinating office facilities and ensuring a clean and safe work environment

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team

• Ability to lift and handle packages of various sizes and weights

• Proficient in using mailroom equipment such as postage meters, envelope openers, etc.

• Familiarity with shipping procedures and protocols

• High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
