Robert Half Staff Accountant in STAMFORD, Connecticut
Description Robert Half has partnered up with a dynamic, innovative Manufacturing firm to fill a Staff Accountant position on their team. Located in the Stamford, Connecticut area, this long-term contract / temporary position is an engaging, multi-faceted opportunity where hard work is rewarded. Responsibilities held by the Staff Accountant include the preparation of monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. The majority of time spent will be dedicated to producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. During the monthly close, you will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. In addition, you will take part in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes.
Your responsibilities
Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Maintain monthly payment schedules Requirements - High attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Skilled with ERP systems
Command of Month-end Journal Entries
Proficiency in journal entries
Bank reconciliations experience highly desired
Foundational knowledge in year end closings
Comprehensive knowledge of NetSuite
