Description
We are offering an opportunity for an experienced Remote Patent Attorney in the biotechnology field. Based in Stillwater, Minnesota, this role provides the flexibility to work remotely and focuses on patent prosecution and preparation in the biotechnology sector. This is a long-term contractual role that involves collaboration with other attorneys to ensure projects are completed on time and align with client objectives.
Responsibilities:
• Respond to office actions or other communications related to patent applications in the biotechnology sector both in the United States and internationally
• Prepare high-quality patent applications for U.S. and international clients within the biotechnology field
• Align with the firm's attorneys to ensure timely completion of projects and adherence to client objectives and budgets
• Maintain communication with firm contacts and provide updates on assigned projects
• Attend virtual meetings as scheduled and ensure all deadlines are met
• Utilize skills in Adobe Acrobat, Case Management Software, Document Management, Briefing, Civil Litigation, Patent Prosecution, Patent Application, Intellectual Property - Patent, and USPTO Filings.
Requirements
• Position requires a minimum of five years of experience as a Patent Attorney, specifically in the area of biotechnology, specifically in the gene/DNA world.
• Candidate must have proficiency in Adobe Acrobat for creating, editing, and managing legal documents.
• Experience with Case Management Software is necessary to handle and organize case files effectively.
• Demonstrated skills in Document Management are required to ensure secure, efficient, and organized handling of legal documents.
• Applicant must be proficient in Briefing, presenting legal information in a structured and concise manner.
• Experience in Civil Litigation is mandatory, representing clients in lawsuits and managing all phases of the litigation process.
• Knowledge and experience in Patent Prosecution and Patent Application are required as part of the job role.
• The candidate must have a strong background in Intellectual Property - Patent, providing advice on patent law, drafting patent applications, and dealing with patent disputes.
• Familiarity with USPTO Filings is necessary for filing patent applications and other documents with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
