Description
Robert Half is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our team. As the Assistant Controller, you will play a key role in supporting financial control for transportation operations. This is a dynamic position that requires strong analytical ability, excellent accounting knowledge, and proficiency in financial software, particularly MAS-Sage.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with the Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Perform financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and budgeting, to support decision-making processes.
Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close procedures.
Prepare financial statements and reports for management and external stakeholders.
Assist in developing and implementing internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Supervise and mentor a team of 1-3 accounting professionals.
Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with a focus on financial control.
Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
Excellent accounting knowledge, including proficiency in GAAP.
Proficient use of financial software, particularly MAS-Sage.
Advanced Excel skills, including V-lookups and Pivot tables.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
