Robert Half Municipal Lawyer in Stockton, California

Description We are looking for an experienced Attorney/Lawyer to join our legal team in Stockton, California. In this role, you will provide legal counsel and advice on a broad range of issues pertaining to municipal law, represent clients in front of administrative agencies, and maintain cooperative working relationships with public officials, staff, and members of the public.

Responsibilities:

• Providing legal counsel and advice on a wide range of issues pertaining to municipal law.

• Attending public and closed-session meetings of government agencies and providing contemporaneous legal advice.

• Conducting in-depth research, evaluation, and resolution of complex legal matters.

• Preparing or revising opinions, memoranda, staff reports, administrative rules, policies, ordinances, regulations, contracts, and other legal documents.

• Representing clients in front of administrative agencies.

• Maintaining cooperative working relationships with public officials, staff, and members of the public.

• Developing and maintaining client relationships and generating business.

• Performing administrative tasks including, but not limited to, contemporaneous timekeeping and timely review and approval of invoices to clients.

• Assigning and supervising the work of other attorneys and staff.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Municipal Laws, Courts - Municipal, Memoranda, Legal Memoranda, Zoning - Planning - Land Use, Environmental Law, Environmental Regulations. Requirements • Must possess a professional degree in Law (JD, LLB).

• Licensed to practice law in the state, or the ability to obtain license promptly.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Attorney or Lawyer.

• Proficiency in municipal laws, and experience with municipal courts.

• Demonstrated ability in creating and interpreting legal memoranda.

• Experience with zoning, planning, and land use.

• Specialization or extensive experience in Environmental Law and Environmental Regulations.

• Strong research skills, with the ability to analyze complex legal documents.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.

• High ethical standards and professionalism, with a commitment to client confidentiality.
