Description
We are in search of a Sr. Accounting Analyst to join our team in the Energy/Natural Resources industry. The role is situated in Sugar Land, Texas and involves ensuring financial transactions are accurate and in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. You will also be responsible for participating in the month-end close process, assisting with audit requests, and preparing corporate financial analyses, reports, and presentations.
Responsibilities:
• Participate heavily in the month-end closing process including account analysis
• Ensure intercompany entries are accurately recorded as per governing agreements
• Assist in the preparation of schedules for internal management reporting and SEC disclosures
• Support in departmental cost analysis and reporting
• Assist Regional Controllers in monthly close processes and work through issues
• Handle legal Entity and governmental reporting and filings for some Corporate-held entities
• Research and resolve various accounting and business issues
• Develop and maintain monthly reports for management as requested
• Perform other duties and special projects as requested
• Assist external and internal auditors with audit requests
Requirements
• Minimum of five years of experience in a senior accountant role or similar.
• Proven experience in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations.
• Proficient in general ledger management and journal entries.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
Advanced ERP and Consolidations systems experience
• Experience with month-end close procedures.
• Demonstrated ability in internal financial reporting.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Knowledge and experience in the energy/natural resources industry is an advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization.
• Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
