Robert Half Staff Accountant in Sugar Land, Texas
Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in the banking industry located in Sugar Land, Texas. In this role, you will be supporting the efficient operation of the accounting department in a financial institution, adhering to internal controls over financial reporting and GAAP.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain and reconcile asset and liability accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Handle all aspects of property taxes, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
• Assist in the budget process, providing detailed financial analysis and reports
• Prepare and/or submit daily and weekly Federal Reserve filings to ensure compliance
• Record journal entries accurately, contributing to precise financial records
• Reconcile internal bank-owned accounts to maintain accurate financial data
• Prepare monthly income statement variance analysis to aid in financial decision making
• Provide additional information and schedules for auditors and examiners as needed
• Prepare ad hoc reports as required by the management. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the banking industry.
• Proficiency in account reconciliation and journal entries is required.
• A university degree in accounting, finance, or related field is mandatory.
• Knowledge and understanding of the banking industry is essential.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are necessary.
• Must be able to adhere to strict deadlines and handle pressure effectively.
