Robert Half Financial Analyst in Summerville, South Carolina

Description This Financial Analyst role via Robert Half may be a great fit for candidates with excellent communication skills and prior experience in finance. An exciting Defense Service company with plenty of room for growth is looking a qualified applicant to join their team. Tasks include conducting financial modeling on various financial products as well as measuring, analyzing, and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans, advising management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives, and preparing reports for management. The Financial Analyst role is a permanent employment opportunity in the Summerville, South Carolina. Major responsibilities

  • Analyze performance to date and assess potential risks and opportunities

  • Ensure business partners handle their resources by tracking monthly and quarterly performance through the comparison of actuals versus expectations

  • Drive monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and if any actions are required

  • The ideal candidate should be a highly flexible individual who is adept at managing expectations and comfortable with handling large amounts of information

  • Support weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting

  • Deliver valuable foresight and decision support by enabling effective Business Intelligence (BI)

  • Work alongside senior executives on strategic deep dives to create financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, event tracking and execution, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, and strategic resource allocation, and prioritization

  • Work alongside cross-functional partners in Accounting and Operations to ensure plans are properly executed

  • Compile and supervise forecasting reports

  • Understand and be able to explain internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending

  • Work closely with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close processes Requirements

  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing

  • Skills in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly desired (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

  • Spreadsheet and ERP system experience is ideal, but not required

  • BA/BS degree in finance or a related field

  • Experience with financial data management processes & systems, e.g. Oracle/Hyperion/SAP Business Objects/SFDC/Tableau- Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • 3+ years of experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

  • Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • Costpoint (Deltek) experience

  • Proficiency in account analysis

  • Project accounting experience preferred

  • Solid understanding of budget forecasting

  • Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience favored)
