Description A prominent services company is looking to grow its team by hiring a Controller through Robert Half. This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. How you will make an impact

  • Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

  • Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management

  • Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis

  • Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Review and revise deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations

  • Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis

  • Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

  • Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports

  • Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective

  • Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties Requirements - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • Proficiency in Analyze Financial Statements

  • Budgeting experience desired

  • Annual Financial Reporting experience preferred

  • Budget forecasting experience preferred

  • Proven knowledge of general ledger

  • Financial reporting experience highly desired

  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail

  • Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus

  • Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)

  • Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

  • Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued

  • Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

  • Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

  • Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
