Robert Half Property Accountant in Sumner, Washington

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Property Accountant in Sumner, Washington, United States. The role involves managing financial operations for both residential and commercial properties. The Property Accountant will oversee multiple accounts, dealing with a varied portfolio of residential and commercial properties.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily cash balances for properties while ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded

• Prepare and adjust bank reconciliations and financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Verify aging reports, process pre-paids, and accruals, demonstrating an in-depth understanding of these processes

• Reconcile balance sheets and manage general ledger entries regularly

• Utilize Excel for financial calculations and reporting

• Classify and record expenses and adjust journal entries accurately

• Maintain no direct interaction with tenant ledger

• Ensure accurate processing of customer credit applications

• Maintain accurate customer credit records

• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary. Requirements • Must possess a solid understanding of US GAAP and GAAP Accounting

• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems and AppFolio

• Skilled in Account Coding and Accounting Functions

• Experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary

• Familiarity with Accrual Accounting, Monthly Accruals, and Accruals needed

• Must have competencies in Auditing and Bank Reconciliations

• Ability to prepare Financial Statements and Adjusting Journal Entries

• Experience with Prepaids and General Ledger management

• Proficiency in Yardi software is a plus

• Must be able to adhere to strict deadlines and work under pressure

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required

• Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is advantageous

• Previous experience in a similar role within the property sector is beneficial

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail required

• Must have a high level of integrity and dependability.
