Robert Half Human Resources (HR) Manager in Sumter, South Carolina

Description

Our client is seeking a Human Resources (HR) Manager to join their team in Sumter, South Carolina. The HR Manager will play an essential role in managing various HR functions, including recruitment, employee development, performance management, and employee data management.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and streamline the recruitment process, ensuring efficient and timely hiring practices.

• Oversee and manage contracts with hiring agencies, ensuring compliance with our standards and expectations.

• Conduct interviews, manage legal guidelines for job postings, and fill positions as required.

• Develop strategies for performance management, employee development, and career pathing.

• Assist managers in creating appropriate development plans for employees to retain a skilled workforce.

• Maintain accurate records specific to vacancies, time to fill, cost of hiring, and manage a budget and hiring strategy.

• Assist in employee investigations and create action plans as necessary.

• Ensure job descriptions are current, accurate, and meet all state and federal requirements for job postings.

• Responsible for maintaining accurate employee data, including electronic personnel files, employee profiles, emergency contact details, and bank account information.

• Coordinate with Benefits Administrator to support and evaluate ADA, FMLA, STD, LTD employee requests for compliance with state and federal programs.

• Backup the payroll administrator by preparing and running a quarterly payroll with a third-party vendor.

Requirements • A minimum of five years of experience in a Human Resources role, preferably within the textile manufacturing industry.

• Proficiency in Benefit Functions, including understanding different employee benefit packages and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

• Strong skills in Employee Relations, including conflict resolution, communication, and fostering a positive work environment.

• Experience in Hiring Processes, which includes developing job descriptions, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and making hiring decisions.

• Ability to manage Onboarding processes, including welcoming new employees and helping them acclimatize to the company culture.

• Experience in Employee Training, including identifying training needs, organizing training programs, and evaluating their effectiveness.

• Proficiency in Employee Performance Management, including setting performance goals, providing feedback, conducting appraisals, and implementing performance improvement plans.

• A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.

• Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.

• Proficiency in using Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and other related software.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

• Ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as independently when required.

• Certification in Human Resources (such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
