Robert Half Accounting Manager in Sunnyvale, Texas

Description

We are searching for an Interim Accounting Manager for 3 months with potential to extend to oversee our financial operations in Sunnyvale, Texas. This role involves managing all aspects of accounting and financial reporting, transaction processing, and operational accounting for our business. This is a long-term contract employment opportunity in the manufacturing industry, where you will be managing a small accounting team and ensuring the efficient and accurate completion of all accounting functions.

Responsibilities for the Interim Accounting Manager

• Oversee monthly closing for the business unit, including the preparation and review of journal entries

• Manage the General Ledger for the business entity, utilizing QuickBooks

• Supervise a small accounting team, primarily focused on accounts payable and accounts receivable transaction processing

• Oversee the preparation and reviews of monthly account reconciliations

• Review intercompany accounting transactions for accuracy and completeness

• Manage and reconcile bank accounts

• Perform detailed cost accounting to support pricing strategies and profitability analysis.

• Analyze and report on cost variances, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.

• Develop and maintain cost accounting systems and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Oversee and manage inventory accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

• Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular audits, and implement best practices for inventory control.

• Collaborate with supply chain and operations teams to optimize inventory management

• Perform various financial analyses to investigate financial results and communicate impacts to management

• Prepare ad hoc financial reporting requests, analyses, and special projects as requested by management

Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role

• Proficient in accounting functions

• Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in auditing is necessary

• Proficiency in QuickBooks is required

• Should be well-versed with Month End Close procedures

• Must have previous experience in staff management

• Knowledge of intercompany transactions is necessary

• Ability to prepare monthly financial statements

• Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus
