Robert Half International Legal Assistant in Sunrise, Florida

Description Large company is seeking a highly experience in or rising star part-time (16-32 hrs/week) Paralegal, Legal Administrator, or Legal Secretary to support its Legal & Compliance team at its Sunrise, Florida office. This role reports directly to the Chief Legal Officer and will also work closely with the Director of Compliance. The right candidate for this position will have five (5) years’ experience in a mid- to large-size company with experience managing contracts, corporate compliance, discovery, and insurance Health care experience is preferred, but not required.

This is a self-starter position and would not be a good fit for someone who needs daily direction. This position will also be initially remote, but may expand to a hybrid model comprising some time in the office. Responsibilities Receive and respond to demand letters and claims; coordinate with applicable insurance carriers. Assist with litigation (coordinate discovery/e-discovery, respond to subpoenas and review pleadings and responses). Oversee registered agent relationship and ensure vendor files all annual reports timely. Track and log all Legal & Compliance financial expenses. Assist with contract management. Conduct investigations and legal research as directed. Assist with mergers and acquisitions (review, draft, and/or collect documents and contracts). Administer insurance program. Assist with all insurance renewals for Dental Whale companies. Identify, track and record existing insurance policies and reconcile invoices to policies. Complete insurance applications. Ensure claims and/or notices are properly communicated to appropriate carriers and tracked. Assist in developing, implementing, and communicating compliance policies, processes and training to ensure employees, vendors and third parties understand ethics and compliance issues, company values, expectations, related policies, and processes. Assist in monitoring and evaluating effectiveness of risk management processes and manage and conduct internal compliance investigations, risk assessments and remediation. Assist in analysis and remediation of operational gaps that create potential regulatory risk. Assist in ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local laws such as HIPAA, business licensing and annual filings. Assist in insuring company and employees are abiding by internal policies and procedures. Draft legal correspondence. Assist with reviewing, drafting and revising a wide variety of contracts, including non-disclosure, customer and supplier and professional services agreements. Support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes. Collaborate with other departments (HR, Accounting, etc.). Assist with various corporate legal matters. Requirements Qualifications Bachelor's degree required with five (5) years of relevant paralegal work experience. High degree of organizational skill and problem-solving with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Independent, highly resourceful self-starter with ability to prioritize/execute to achieve desired company and project goals with prudence and sense of urgency. Excellent telephone etiquette with strong written and verbal communication skills. Above average Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint skills. General knowledge of, or experience in, litigation and M& A processes. Experience with legal research tools, corporate filing processes, and contract management systems.
