Chris Preble from Robert Half is working with a Syracuse client of his that has great benefits. This is a newly created Billing Manager position due to growth. Reporting into the head of the billing department, you'll be involved in a bit of everything. Staff management, assisting with strategic growth and being an important component in the billing department for this organization.

Responsibilities will include:

The Billing Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire billing process to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient invoice generation, submission, and payment collection. The role requires managing a team, implementing best practices, and ensuring compliance with billing policies and regulations. The Billing Manager will work closely with other departments such as finance, operations, and customer service to ensure smooth and effective processes while maintaining a high standard of customer satisfaction.

•Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Billing Operations: Help manage day-to-day billing activities to ensure the accurate preparation and submission of invoices in a timely manner.

  • Team Management: Lead and mentor the billing team, providing guidance, setting performance goals, and conducting regular performance evaluations.

  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement efficient billing processes, including automation tools, to reduce errors and increase operational efficiency.

  • Compliance: Ensure all billing practices adhere to regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.

  • Reporting: Help prepare detailed reports on billing activities, outstanding payments, and accounts receivable

  • Accounts Receivable Oversight: Monitor and manage collections, ensuring timely payment of invoices and reducing overdue accounts.

  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with the finance team to align billing operations with financial reporting and budgeting.

  • Audit Support: Assist in the preparation of data and documentation required for internal and external audits.

    Requirements

•5+ years of experience in billing or accounts receivable, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

• Strong communication and leadership skills are required

• Must have a high level of attention to detail and accuracy

• Must have excellent organizational and time management skills.
