Description
Chris Preble from Robert Half is working with a Syracuse client of his that has a Controller hiring need. This position is a great opportunity for someone who has leadership experience and wants to work for a growing company. Reporting into the CFO, you will have a role that will keep evolving over time as your compensation grows too.
Responsibilities will include:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
Oversee the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses.
Accounting Management:
Supervise and mentor the accounting team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
Ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and reconciliations.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
Develop, implement, and maintain internal control policies and procedures.
Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
Financial Planning and Analysis:
Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies and long-term plans.
Analyze financial data and trends to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
Support strategic initiatives through financial modeling and scenario analysis.
External Relations:
Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies.
Maintain relationships with banks and other financial institutions.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA, MBA or CMA certification is an asset
Proven experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
