Description

Chris Preble from Robert Half is working with a Syracuse client of his that has a Controller hiring need. This position is a great opportunity for someone who has leadership experience and wants to work for a growing company. Reporting into the CFO, you will have a role that will keep evolving over time as your compensation grows too.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.

  • Oversee the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses.

  • Accounting Management:

  • Supervise and mentor the accounting team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and reconciliations.

  • Internal Controls and Compliance:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal control policies and procedures.

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

  • Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.

  • Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies and long-term plans.

  • Analyze financial data and trends to provide actionable insights and recommendations.

  • Support strategic initiatives through financial modeling and scenario analysis.

  • External Relations:

  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies.

  • Maintain relationships with banks and other financial institutions.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • CPA, MBA or CMA certification is an asset

  • Proven experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
