Robert Half currently has a Full Time Consulting opportunity with their consulting team in Syracuse, NY and is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their dynamic, innovative team. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for account analysis and reconciliations, financial statement preparation and consolidation, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Your responsibilities in this role

  • Organize quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

  • Build analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

  • Carry out monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP

  • Compose Balance Sheet account reconciliations

  • Ad-hoc projects as necessary

  • Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments

  • An endless desire to improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

  • Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

  • Function with business partners to ensure compliance with procedures and controls, corporate accounting policies, and provide support on special requests

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

  • Highly capable of analyzing financial data and quickly creating accurate reports

  • Minimum 5-7 years of overall general accounting experience

  • Experience in SOX control execution/documentation

  • Demonstrated skills in interacting effectively, both verbally and in writing, with functional managers

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

  • Strong organization skills

  • This position needs to be filled by someone with financial reporting systems proficiency

  • Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

  • Knowledgeable of ERP systems

  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

  • Understanding of corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

  • Audit Program experience

  • Background working with Prepare Financial Statements

  • Adeptness in Cash Flow Analysis

  • Foundational knowledge in account analysis

  • General familiarity with financial analysis

  • Analysis experience highly desired

  • Demonstrated knowledge of cost analysis

  • Audit Plans experience required

  • Solid understanding of general ledger

  • Practical knowledge of financial statement preparation

  • Financial Statement Audits experience highly preferred
