Chris Preble from Robert Half is working with another Syracuse client of his that has a Senior Accountant hiring need. This manufacturing industry company offers a position that will have growth to it. Reporting into the Controller, you'll be involved in a bit of everything in this role. One of those solid resume builder positions. Also, you'll have experience with cost accounting in this position and everyone always loves candidates that have cost accounting experience (it's ok if you don't have it now as part of your work experience).

Responsibilities will include:

• Help perform month-end closing procedures and prepare necessary journal entries

• Conduct balance sheet account reconciliations

• Conduct monthly expenses variance-to-budget analysis with cost center owners

• Assist in the preparation of the year-end audit documentation

• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and semi-annual forecasts

• Interface with management and various departments on accounting matters

• Undertake special projects as required

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Proven accounting experience within the manufacturing industry.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
