Description If you're an experienced accountant with a knack for accuracy, Robert Half has a terrific opportunity for you to check out. In this role, you will have responsibility over the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. You'll be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. In addition, you'll be in communication with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, participating in compliance, and reviewing schedules for the reporting processes. This role also involves the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. What you get to do every day
Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management
Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision Requirements - Accounts Payable (AP) experience preferred
Proficiency in journal entries
Solid understanding of grant accounting
Skilled with ERP systems
Recent and relevant accounting experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
