Chris Preble from Robert Half is working with a for profit client of his that is looking to hire a Staff Accountant. This is a newly created role and the goal for this position is it grows into a Senior Accountant position in a year. This position is a wide scope role where you won't get bored and you'll be learning a lot. You'll be involved in maintaining financial records, performing general accounting functions, and supporting the month-end and year-end close processes. This role will also involve ensuring the accuracy of financial information by performing various accounting tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process and record business transactions in the form of journal entries.

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting.

• Assist in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.

• Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Perform regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and accruals.

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

• Prepare reports for management to help monitor the company’s financial performance.

• Assist with accounts receivable functions.

• Work with vendors and customers to resolve billing discrepancies or payment issues.

Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new accounting practices and software.
