Robert Half Staff Accountant in Syracuse, New York
Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in our CPA Firm based in Syracuse, New York. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for a variety of tasks including managing accounts payable and payroll functions. They will also be tasked with maintaining accurate records, processing customer applications, and resolving customer inquiries.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and process customer credit applications to ensure efficiency and accuracy
• Maintain and update customer credit records regularly
• Resolve customer inquiries related to their accounts promptly
• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions as required
• Utilize various platforms such as Quickbooks Online, Bill.com, Expensify, Knowify, Bill Spend, Paychex, ADP, Paylocity for invoicing and payment processing
• Process invoices and ensure timely and accurate payment to vendors
• Manage the accounts payable ledger and assist with month-end closings
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Assist in the development and improvement of accounts payable processes
• Handle sensitive information with utmost confidentiality Requirements • Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• Proficiency in QuickBooks is required
• Must demonstrate knowledge and experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations is necessary
• Experience in General Ledger maintenance is essential
• Ability to prepare and post Journal Entries is required
• Must have experience in executing Month End Close procedures
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work is required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary
• Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of CPA firm operations and practices is an advantage
• Must demonstrate high levels of integrity and professionalism.
