Cable Technician Job Description
Cable technicians install, maintain, and troubleshoot cable for audio visual, internet, and phone services for commercial customers. They work with a variety of equipment, including cable lines, modems, routers. Cable technicians must be able to troubleshoot problems quickly and efficiently, and provide excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair audio visual, internet, and phone services for commercial customers
Troubleshoot and resolve problems with cable equipment and services
Install and set up cable modems, routers, and set-top boxes
Keep up-to-date on the latest cable technologies and equipment
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license with a good driving record
Strong technical skills
Ability to troubleshoot problems quickly and efficiently
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
Experience as a cable technician or in a related field
Knowledge of cable, audio visual, internet, and phone technologies
Certification from a reputable cable technician training program
