Description

Robert Half is assisting a growing service organization in a search for a Director of Purchasing. The role involves developing and implementing procurement strategies, leading a team of purchasing professionals, and establishing relationships with key suppliers. The successful candidate will also be responsible for monitoring market trends and managing the procurement budget.

Responsibilities include:

• Creating and executing procurement strategies to optimize purchasing processes and drive cost savings.

• Mentoring a team of purchasing professionals, providing necessary guidance, support, and training.

• Building and maintaining relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts and agreements to ensure favorable terms.

• Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand purchasing needs and requirements, and developing sourcing strategies to meet them.

• Keeping track of market trends and conditions to identify opportunities for cost reduction and risk mitigation.

• Overseeing the procurement budget and tracking expenses to ensure adherence to financial targets.

• Implementing procurement best practices and process improvements to enhance operations and efficiency.

• Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies, including ethical sourcing practices and supplier diversity initiatives.

• Conducting supplier performance evaluations and contract reviews to ensure accountability and maintain service levels.

• Keeping up-to-date with industry developments and emerging trends in procurement, and incorporating relevant innovations into purchasing strategies.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in a similar role within the service industry.

• Advanced knowledge of ERP

• Comprehensive understanding of budget and buying processes.

• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to manage complex customer interactions.

• Previous experience managing invoices and financial documentation.

• A proven track record in leading teams and overseeing large-scale purchasing operations.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

• Bachelor's degree in business or a related field is preferred.

• Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build relationships with suppliers.

• Strong analytical skills to evaluate performance metrics and make informed decisions.

• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

• Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
