Robert Half Intellectual Property (IP) Docket Specialist - Entry level in Tampa, Florida
Description
Responsibilities
Use the firm IP docketing management system to process and docket all manner of incoming and outgoing communications with the USPTO and foreign associates
Generate attorney docket reports and daily reminders and collaborate with attorneys and legal administrative assistants to manage IP deadlines
Provide advanced administrative support to the IP Administrator and attorneys by participating in all day-to-day administrative affairs, including preparing external correspondence, reports, managing docket performance and completing special projects as directed, and management of USPTO deposit account
Address multiple demands on the Attorneys’ schedules, including responding to clients’ requests, communicating with foreign associates, and preparing materials for client meetings
Participate in legal projects, including assisting with the drafting of documents, conducting patent and trademark searches, maintaining databases, and originating documents to be filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office
Obtain a solid understanding of US and foreign patent and trademark laws, procedures and rules
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
High school graduate required; Associate or other undergraduate degree preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to manage multiple requests, assess priorities, and achieve solutions under deadlines
Accurate data management
Strong proofreading and organizational skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work independently and in a team oriented environment
Professional, positive attitude
Intelligent and quick learner
Type 50-75 WPM
Must be able to exercise independence and good judgment and maintain discretion with confidential and sensitive information
Must maintain a high quality work product, have the ability to schedule work to meet department deadlines and be able to perform job responsibilities under pressure efficiently, productively and in a professional manner
