Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an IT Manager in the construction/contractor industry, located in Tampa, Florida, 33602-3103, United States. The role involves managing hardware and software assets, maintaining network architecture, and coordinating with IT personnel to achieve department objectives.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and maintain hardware and software assets to ensure smooth operations
• Apply considerable initiative and independent judgment in managing agency's network architecture
• Identify and resolve potential and actual network problems to avoid disruptions in operations
• Enhance hardware, software, and systems as needed by implementing defined solutions
• Manage consultants, vendors, and IT personnel to achieve the Information Technology Department’s objectives
• Lead in project management of IT projects as assigned and conduct scope and proposal reviews for upcoming projects
• Support agency staff in executing their job duties with technology
• Monitor and provide quality control for critical IT infrastructure and functions (i.e backups, security, etc.)
• Manage security system equipment warranty and repair contract
• Administer and monitor performance of the building access control system
• Organize and oversee maintenance of various agency IT infrastructure
• Utilize skills in Database, EO/IR systems, Backup Technologies, Computer Hardware, Configuration Management, Contracts, Proposal Management, Manage Vendor Relationships. Requirements • Minimum of five years of experience in an IT managerial role within the construction/contractor industry
• Proven expertise in managing and maintaining databases
• Proficiency in working with EO/IR systems
• Extensive knowledge of backup technologies and their application in IT infrastructure
• Familiarity with computer hardware, including installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance
• Experience in configuration management, ensuring optimal performance of IT systems
• Able to negotiate and manage contracts effectively, ensuring the best terms for the company
• Demonstrated ability in proposal management, from development to presentation
• Proven ability to manage vendor relationships, ensuring mutually beneficial partnerships
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure
• Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical colleagues
