We are offering an exciting opportunity with a rapidly growing client industry in Tampa, Florida. The role is a Sr. Accountant, where you will be working closely with the Controller to manage all accounting functions, including month/year-end financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and the creation and monitoring of internal controls.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Controller on staff training, development, and management

• Assist in the preparation of month/year-end financial reports, closing schedules, and audits

• Oversee the creation of financial reports in compliance with GAAP

• Support budgeting and forecasting processes, analyze variances between actual and budgeted results and provide appropriate recommendations

• Assist in the creation and monitoring of internal controls to ensure financial reporting accuracy and safeguard company assets

• Discover and implement emerging and existing technologies to automate the accounting process without sacrificing accuracy

• Manage financial reporting for multiple locations and states

• Handle 'Month End Close' and 'Tax - Sales & Use' processes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience of related experience

• Proficiency in executing Month End Close processes is required.

• Must have expertise in Sales & Use Tax calculations and regulations.

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite is required.

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; a master's degree is preferred.

• Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work under tight deadlines.

• Must be able to adapt to changing business environments and continuously improve processes to drive efficiency.

• A high level of analytical skills is required to interpret complex financial data and provide insightful reports to management.
