Description

Robert Half is seeking a Controller consultant to support our Energy/Natural Resources client for a long-term engagement. This role focuses on managing the day-to-day staff, overseeing month-end close processes, account reconciliations, and journal entries. This 100% onsite interim position reports directly to the Financial and Operational Controller and is located in Taylor Michigan.

The day-to- day responsibilities include:

• Manage day-to-day staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to company policies

• Oversee month-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely completion

• Manage and oversee journal entries, ensuring they are completed accurately and on time

• Conduct account reconciliations, identifying and resolving any discrepancies

• Utilize strong accounting background to maintain financial accuracy and integrity

• Analyze data and provide insights to improve financial performance and decision-making processes

• Use ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems to streamline accounting functions and improve efficiency

• Utilize strong Excel skills for data analysis and reporting

• Leverage knowledge of the Fuel industry to inform financial decisions and strategies

• Collaborate with team members and foster a quick-learning and team-player environment.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following skill set:

• Proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems is required.

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Accounting Functions.

• Familiarity with managing and maintaining Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Prior experience with Budget Processes in an energy or natural resources environment.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within the Energy/Natural Resources industry.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

• Strong understanding of regulatory standards within the Energy/Natural Resources industry.

• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.

• High degree of professional integrity and strong business ethics.
