Robert Half Collections Specialist in Teaneck, New Jersey
Description We are on the lookout for a Collections Specialist to join our team in the waste management and recycling industry, based in Teaneck, New Jersey. This role offers a short-term contract opportunity that involves a range of responsibilities including customer communication, payment processing, and account monitoring.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct professional collection calls to customers with outstanding balances daily.
• Review and explain invoices and statements to customers.
• Manage the processing and scheduling of credit card and ACH payments.
• Register customers in the online portal.
• Distribute invoices and aging balance reports via email.
• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary action based on the status of the account.
• Approve or reject orders and lift credit holds from accounts as necessary.
• Formulate and schedule payment plans when required.
• Apply payments, credits, and debit memos to customer accounts.
• Provide cash forecasting information for the assigned customer base. Requirements • Proficiency in B2B collections is required
• Familiarity with Cash Applications is essential
• Previous experience in Billing is necessary
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are crucial
• Must have a keen eye for detail and a high level of accuracy
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make quick decisions
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
• Must have a customer service orientation to deal with various client queries and issues
• Ability to adapt to changing environments and handle multiple priorities
• Knowledge of industry laws and regulations is advantageous
• High school diploma or equivalent is required, a degree in a related field is a plus
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
