Robert Half Purchasing Assistant in Temecula, California

Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Purchasing Assistant in Temecula, California. This role is crucial within our team, primarily dealing with supplier relations, purchasing activities, and maintaining meticulous records. The Purchasing Assistant will work in a fast-paced environment and will be responsible for ensuring the timely acquisition of goods while maintaining cost efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct vendor research to ensure the best quality and cost efficiency

• Compare prices among different vendors to make the best purchasing decisions

• Process purchase orders in a timely and accurate manner

• Coordinate deliveries to ensure prompt receipt of goods

• Maintain meticulous records of all purchasing activities

• Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess

• Track expenses related to purchasing and identify cost-saving opportunities

• Utilize purchasing software to streamline procurement operations

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations

• Use Microsoft Excel and Word to manage and present data Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Purchasing Assistant or in a similar role.

• Proficiency in data processing and data entry.

• Demonstrable skills in Microsoft Excel.

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and billing functions.

• Familiarity with check processing.

• Strong customer service skills.

• Experience in purchasing activities, functions, and planning.

• Knowledge of purchasing materials and software.

• Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work.

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

• Willingness to continue learning and improving purchasing skills.

• Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
