Robert Half Bookkeeper in Tempe, Arizona

Description We are seeking a Bookkeeper based in Tempe, Arizona, with an opportunity to transition from contract to hire. The role will be situated within the construction industry, where the chosen candidate will be responsible for various facets of accounting, from processing payments to reconciliations and month-end close.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the processing of customer credit applications with accuracy and efficiency.

• Maintain and update customer credit records regularly.

• Monitor customer accounts and initiate appropriate actions as necessary.

• Assist in month-end closing and reconciliation activities.

• Maintain the general ledger entries and ensure their accuracy.

• Collaborate with other team members in the accounting department and perform various tasks as needed.

• Ensure all accounts payable activities are completed in a timely manner.

• Assist in the review of financial numbers and reports, particularly during year-end wrap up.

• Utilize software like Sage300 (Timberline) or QuickBooks to manage accounting tasks efficiently.

• Use Microsoft Excel for data entry and other related tasks.

This role offers a unique opportunity to wear multiple hats within a small team, with the potential to support other areas of accounting when volume is down. The ideal candidate will have skills in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, Bookkeeping, Data Entry, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, Payroll, and QuickBooks. Requirements • Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Skilled in handling Bank Reconciliations

• Previous experience in Bookkeeping is necessary

• Able to perform Data Entry tasks efficiently

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Familiarity with Month End Close process

• Experience in managing Payroll

• Proficient in using QuickBooks software

• Should have strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High degree of professionalism and confidentiality is required

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is preferred.
