Description A Payroll Clerk position has opened up at a growing company that Robert Half has partnered with whose duties include supporting the Payroll department in a variety of duties. This role is located in the Tempe, Arizona area. This is a great opportunity for a self-starter to work with an industry leader on a career path with growth in this challenging position. The company is looking for a candidate to join their dynamic, fast-growing team who can effectively communicate with both the internal team and outside customers. The Payroll Clerk's job duties consist of data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. The selected Payroll Clerk candidate would be employed on a long-term contract / temporary basis.
Enter data into spreadsheets and the payroll system
Build and run custom reports
Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system
Administer and distribute reports as instructed
Carry out clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc
Reach out to employees via phone and email to obtain timesheet approvals
Administer instruction/training to employees regarding the use of payroll-related systems including entry of timesheets, online access of pay statements, etc. Requirements Associates degree in business OR similar major and a minimum of 1 years of payroll processing experience Experience with ADP Workforce Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel), payroll systems and Web applications; • Must have strong proficiency with math, exceptional organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail and thorough follow through; • Ability to type proficiently (35+ wpm) and operate a calculator keypad; • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; • Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work well independently as well as with co-workers, peers, supervisors and external customers; • Ability to effectively and efficiently handle multiple tasks simultaneously with precision and adapt to changes in responsibilities and workloads; • Must be detail oriented, possess a high degree of urgency and self-motivation, and have a strong work ethic
