Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in TETERBORO, New Jersey

Description Work as an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk in a stimulating work environment with a team of highly skilled professionals through this opportunity offered by Robert Half. In this position, you will be required to manage all general administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department. You will work closely and report to the Accounting Manager. The main responsibilities will include matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are primary areas of focus. Located in Teterboro, New Jersey, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a long-term contract / temporary opening.

Major responsibilities

  • Manage the process of verifying, logging, and mailing checks, including expediting special handling

  • Open, sort, and deliver department mail on a daily basis

  • Ensure invoices, checks, and other documents are properly sorted, logged, scanned, and filed

  • Provide support to internal business partners

  • Support the AP/Finance Department by completing administrative tasks

  • Fullfill full-cycle A/P

  • Carry out additional projects as required

  • Assist with internal and external audits as needed

  • Perform daily processes and controls correctly and punctually, ensuring company policies are followed Requirements - Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  • Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

  • Proficiency in Coding Invoices

  • Proven knowledge of Prepare Checks

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Command of batching

  • SAP experience

  • Invoice Payment experience highly desired

  • Well-founded grasp of Payment Processing

  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

  • Demonstrated communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds

  • Prior experience in an A/P role preferred
