Robert Half Accounting Manager in the Woodlands, Texas

Description

Overview: Our client, a growing mid-size company, is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their team. This role will play a critical part in their accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, a CPA or parts passed, and a thorough understanding of FASB pronouncements. This role will not have any direct reports and will be responsible for managing the lease accounting and general accounting policy of the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the month-end close process, including booking journal entries.

  • Manage and perform lease accounting in compliance with ASC 842.

  • Oversee inventory and CAPEX accounting.

  • Conduct research on FASB pronouncements and ensure adherence to updated standards.

  • Support financial audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.

  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of general ledger accounts.

  • Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information for financial reporting.

  • Utilize strong Excel and systems skills to enhance accounting processes and reporting.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • CPA certification or parts passed required.

  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on technical accounting.

  • Demonstrated experience with lease accounting under ASC 842.

  • Experience in inventory and CAPEX accounting.

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and ability to research FASB pronouncements.

  • Experience with financial audits.

  • Proficiency in Excel and experience with various accounting systems.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
