Responsibilities:

Exercise review and verification of source documents

Provide assistance as necessary for all internal and external audits related to

payroll

Process biweekly payroll for 600+ employees

Maintaining payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting

needed changes

Resolve payroll discrepancies via information collection and analysis

Updating payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage,

savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers

Secure confidential payroll operation information and maintain employee

confidence

Certify compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines

Handle all payroll information questions and requests

Compile all information in reference to summaries of earnings, taxes,

deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages for reports

Establish payroll liabilities after calculating all employee federal and state

income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment,

and worker compensation payments

Handle specific weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports for department

heads

Managing payroll information by keeping proper records for collecting,

calculating, and entering data

Reconciling of employee deductions and other liabilities

Requirements

  • Expertise with internal controls

  • Prior experience working with Workday

  • Proficient knowledge of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen

  • Mastery of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements

  • 2+ years of strong payroll experience

  • Excellent data entry skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of workday

  • Payroll for over 500 employees experience preferred

  • Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Capable of managing high volume multi-state payroll

  • Reliable skills in Microsoft Office with excellent Excel skills
