Robert Half Payroll Clerk in the Woodlands, Texas

Description

A client of ours is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Clerk to join their payroll team within the banking industry in The Woodlands area. This role will primarily assist with administrative duties related to payroll, ensuring timely and accurate processing while providing exceptional customer service to employees. This role is fully in-office from Monday through Friday from 8-5. This is an open-ended contract position that offers the potential for contract-to-hire opportunities for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service Support: Act as a point of contact for employees, addressing payroll-related inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely manner.

  • Documentation Management: Respond to requests for payroll documentation, including benefits and tax records, ensuring proper handling and distribution.

  • Data Entry and Reporting: Perform data entry tasks for earnings and benefit deductions, generating reports and electronic files from the payroll system as required.

  • Year-End Tasks: Assist in year-end payroll processes, including tax filings and the preparation of W-2 forms, ensuring compliance and accuracy.

  • Check Deposits: Manage the deposit of checks related to benefit reimbursements and tax refunds, ensuring timely processing.

  • Correspondence Review: Review all incoming payroll correspondence, assigning issues or requests to the appropriate payroll team member for resolution.

    Requirements

Competencies Required:

  • Strong Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for reporting and documentation purposes.

  • Familiarity with Payroll Applications: Experience navigating payroll applications, specifically Cognos and UKG, to efficiently process payroll tasks.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on providing superior customer service.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a payroll or administrative role is preferred.

  • Knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, and employee benefits is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
