Robert Half Power BI Data Reporting Analyst in the Woodlands, Texas
Description
We are looking for a skilled Power BI Developer with expertise in the retail energy sector to create dynamic and insightful reports that will drive data-driven decision-making and enhance our retail energy operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing Power BI reports that provide valuable insights into our retail energy business, customer behavior, market trends, and operational performance.
Main Activities:
Collaborate with stakeholders in the retail energy business to understand reporting requirements and data needs.
Design and develop interactive Power BI reports and dashboards that showcase key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to retail energy sales, revenue, customer acquisition, and retention.
Integrate data from various sources, including energy consumption data, customer demographics, pricing information, and market trends, to create comprehensive and accurate reports.
Implement data modeling and transformations in Power BI to ensure data accuracy and consistency in the reports.
Utilize Power BI's DAX language to create calculated columns, measures, and custom expressions for advanced analytics and data visualizations.
Apply data visualization best practices to create compelling and user-friendly reports that provide clear insights into retail energy trends and patterns.
Collaborate with the data engineering team to ensure the availability and reliability of data sources for reporting purposes.
Conduct regular data validation and quality checks to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the reports.
Assist in training end-users on how to interact with the Power BI reports and explore data independently.
Stay updated with the latest features and enhancements in Power BI to continuously improve report design and functionality.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
Proven experience in developing Power BI reports, specifically within the retail energy sector.
Strong knowledge of the retail energy industry, including energy consumption patterns, pricing models, and customer segmentation.
Proficiency in data modeling, transformations, and advanced analytics using DAX in Power BI.
Experience integrating data from various sources, such as databases, Excel, CSV files, and APIs.
Familiarity with energy data management systems, customer information systems, and utility billing systems is a plus.
Solid understanding of data visualization principles and best practices.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify business insights from data.
Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex data analysis to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
