Robert Half Senior Accountant in The Woodlands, Texas

Description In this position, you will be in charge of preparing and consolidating financial statements, analyzing and reconciling accounts, analyzing cash flow, creating budgets and forecasts, and preparing audits, as well as managing internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Candidates with strong analytical skills and a preference for challenging and fast-paced work environments will be successful in this position. Excellent compensation is just part of the package. Responsibilities

  • Produce monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management purposes

  • Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary

  • Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

  • Present Balance Sheet account reconciliations

  • Produce error-free monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP

  • Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests

  • Engage in various department-wide initiatives

  • Adherence to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

  • Analyze financial information and report on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks) Requirements

  • Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

  • Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired

  • Experience with ERP systems

  • Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus

  • Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

  • Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  • Skill with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

  • Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

  • External reporting experience desired

  • Must have excellent time management skills

  • Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

  • 3+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
