Robert Half Accounting Manager (Restaurant/Hospitality) in Torrance, California

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager/Supervisor at our workplace located in Torrance, California, United States. The chosen candidate will be tasked with overseeing the daily review of company financial records, preparing financial statements, and managing accounts receivable and payable. This role falls within the telecom industry.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct a daily review of company financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.

• Prepare preliminary period financial statements, monthly statements of cash flow, and weekly flash reports to keep track of the company's financial status.

• Oversee the preparation of daily deposit logs and the reconciliation of bank accounts to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.

• Ensure the timely management of accounts receivable (A/R) and accounts payable (A/P) to maintain good relationships with customers and suppliers.

• Manage the month-end financial close process, ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded and reported.

• Analyze and review restaurant expenses to identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.

• Train and assist other restaurant accountants and office personnel on accounting items as needed to ensure they are well-versed in accounting procedures and practices.

• Assist with special projects as needed, providing your expertise in financial matters.

• Support the objectives, vision, and direction of the Executive Management Team, contributing to the overall success of the company.

• Supervise a team of approximately five accountants, providing guidance and feedback to improve their performance and productivity.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Solutions.

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services and Restaurant operations.

• Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Auditing.

• Knowledge of QuickBooks Enterprise and Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation.

• Familiarity with Balance Sheet Reviews and Consolidated Balance Sheets. Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems such as QuickBooks Enterprise

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services

• Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions

• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Knowledge of Auditing practices

• Ability to manage Billing Functions

• Experience in the Restaurant industry and Restaurant operations REQUIRED

• Proficiency in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Balance Sheet Reviews

• Familiarity with Balance Sheets and Consolidated Balance Sheet

• Previous experience in a managerial or supervisory role in accounting is preferred

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Professional accounting certification such as CPA is a plus

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent time management and organizational ability

• Ability to multitask and meet constant deadlines

• Willingness to work cooperatively in a team environment.
