Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Torrance, California
Description We are in search of an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in the Apparel Manufacturing industry in Torrance, California. The role involves the processing of purchase orders, vendor statement reconciliation, and maintaining relationships with the Accounts Receivable department of vendors. This job offers a contract to hire employment opportunity, providing a chance to work in a dynamic and fast-paced field.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct the processing of 150-200 purchase orders daily with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Apply freight and landed costs to purchase orders to ensure accurate cost calculations.
• Carry out check run processes to ensure smooth and timely payments.
• Perform vendor statement reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records.
• Foster and maintain relationships with the Accounts Receivable department of vendors to ensure smooth operations.
• Handle 1099 maintenance and filing tasks, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
• Utilize analytical skills to monitor and manage customer accounts.
• Communicate and connect with other departments like Supply Chain to facilitate efficient operations.
• Use strong people skills to interact with Accounts Receivable representatives at other companies.
• Perform data entry tasks as needed, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP)
• Demonstrated ability in Account Reconciliation
• Proven experience with Check Runs
• Familiarity with Coding Invoices
• Strong Data Entry skills
• Proficient in Invoice Processing
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Oracle
• Knowledge of QuickBooks software
• Familiarity with SAP software
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred
• Previous experience in the apparel manufacturing industry is a plus.
